Delete data. Keep your GiftDNA account.

You can remove some gift-planning data without deleting your account. This page explains the available controls and how to request additional data deletion from GiftDNA support.

1. Delete selected data yourself

  1. Open GiftDNA and sign in to the account whose data you want to manage.
  2. In My People, choose the saved person's Delete button and confirm. This removes that saved-person record, including the preferences, dates, Past Gifts and feedback stored in that record.
  3. To remove an individual date while keeping the person, open Calendar, select the saved date, use Delete in the date editor and confirm.

These controls keep your GiftDNA account active. Deleting a saved person does not automatically erase all separate Drop history, collection records or usage analytics.

Open GiftDNA

2. Request other data deletion

Email giftdnaapp@gmail.com with the subject GiftDNA data deletion request. State which data you want removed and that you want to keep your account. Send the request from your account email if possible, or identify the email associated with your GiftDNA account.

Support may need to verify account ownership. The data covered by the request, any necessary retention and the expected completion time will be confirmed in the reply. This is a support request, not an instant automatic deletion form.

Email a deletion request

If the button does not open an email app, copy the address and send your request using your email service.

Do not send passwords, verification codes or unnecessary personal information.

What remains, and for how long?

Self-service removal changes or deletes the selected saved record when the operation succeeds. Your account identity, settings and other records you have not deleted remain while your account is active, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Separate Drop and collection records and usage events are not automatically erased by removing a person or date. Verification and operational records may expire during normal service operation; GiftDNA has no fixed public period for those records and does not promise automatic deletion of all user data within 90 days.

Limited records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling or legal obligations. Data irreversibly aggregated or de-identified so it can no longer reasonably be linked to your account may be retained for analytics. If a support deletion request involves data that must be retained, support will explain the retained data, reason and applicable period. Service-provider and backup records may follow their own retention schedules.

To close your account and delete its associated synced data instead, use the separate account deletion page.
